The team that skis together, sticks together! Among the many amazing aspects of living and working in Switzerland is our quick access to the Swiss and French Alps. And so, last week, the team embarked on our annual ski/snowboarding team day, just across the border in Avoriaz, France.
Most of us are pretty experienced with sliding down the sides of mountains on skis or snowboards, but those of us who are newbies to winter sports were invited to join in too! We had two first timers with us this year, our Californian and Portuguese teammates, Emma and Laura. They braved the kiddie hill during their first ever snowboard lesson! Their report: an exhausting but ultimately fun experience!
It was an absolutely gorgeous day to be up in the mountains, with lots of fresh snow to enjoy and sunshine to enjoy it under. Perfect conditions.
The architecture in the resort village of Avoriaz is stunning. The 1960’s era natural wood accommodations were built to mimic the sheer cliff faces of the surrounding mountains. Even the parking garage is beautiful. There’s inspiration to be found around every corner.
The team gathered in one of the local brasseries to cheers and swap stories from the slopes over one last warm drink before making our way back home to Switzerland. And the sky lit up for a beautiful drive home.
Looking forward to next year’s team ski and snowboard day already!
