    As one of the world’s largest and most successful mining specialists, Anglo American takes their CSR & community outreach responsibilities very seriously. Their mines and operational bases are often in very remote and deprived regions, so giving back to these communities is high on their agenda. They commissioned us to create an authentic film focusing on outreach within a Brazilian community school with footage made by Anglo American and the community school.

  • The solution

    We regularly partner with a UGC (user generated content) specialist who provides a secure and intuitive platform where content filmed on smart phones and similar devices can be safely uploaded. In this case, Anglo American and the school were asked to shoot people talking directly to the camera and to also shoot some other footage that could be used alongside the spoken content. We sifted through the footage, ordered it chronologically, and laid it out into a narrative format. One of our editors picked out the very best spoken content and supporting footage. Alongside an effective audio bed music track, a draft edit was given to Anglo American’s global communications team for feedback, which was then used to create the final version. In order for the film to be as widely appreciated and used as possible, on-screen subtitles were also burnt into the film.

    The film was shown on Anglo American’s Brazilian site and global communications hub as well as on several social media platforms.
